Free classes put seniors’ interests front and center

YAKIMA, Wash.—Retired? Retirement age? Protecting your aging parents’ best interests? Then mark your calendar.

Health Alliance Medicare launched a helpful series of free classes at Yakima Valley Libraries. Classes include topics surrounding aging, planning for retirement and getting the most out of your health insurance. Join Health Alliance Medicare and Yakima Valley Libraries.

  • ABCs of Medicare: 10 a.m. Tuesday at West Valley Community Library, 223 S. 72nd Ave., Yakima, 509-966-7070.
  • Retirement Planning — Health Insurance Options: 10 a.m. March 25, West Valley Community Library, 223 S. 72nd Ave, Yakima, 509-966-7070.
  • Additional workshops scheduled for May include “ABCs of Medicare” at the Sunnyside Community Library on May 16 and “Fraud Prevention” at the Yakima Central Library on May 18.

The classes that range from 30 to 90 minutes will include time for the experts to answer attendees’ questions.
