Health Alliance earns A+ rating from Better Business Bureau, ethics experts

Honor helps consumers know they’re working with trustworthy businesses with high standards

CHAMPAIGN—Health Alliance Medical Plans is now a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business with an A+ rating. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is the authority on trust in the market and the leading resource for providing objective, unbiased information on businesses to the public.

“To gain an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau solidifies what we’ve known for nearly 40 years. We put Health Alliance members and their families first in all that we do, and we serve them in the most honorable way possible,” Health Alliance CEO Dennis Hesch said.

“In short, this accreditation is the real deal to consumers. The Better Business Bureau has 100 years’ experience of branding businesses that exhibit solid marketplace ethics. Health Alliance is proud be in its spotlight.”

Consumers turn to the BBB when they want businesses to be held accountable and when they’re pleased with the service they receive. Businesses that receive an A+ rating score 97 percent or higher, because they receive few complaints and address well those they do receive.

The timing of the honor is especially helpful for consumers. The Medicare Advantage Annual Enrollment Period ends Dec. 7, and enrollment for Individual and Family plans ends Dec. 15.

“We know people who don’t receive healthcare coverage from an employer are considering their options for 2020. The fact that the Better Business Bureau backs Health Alliance provides one more piece of information consumers need so they can make the best decision for themselves and their families,” Health Alliance Chief Operating Officer Sinead Rice Madigan said.

A leading provider-driven health plan, Health Alliance also was awarded by J.D. Power for highest member satisfaction among commercial health plans in the Illinois and Indiana Region in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Better Business Bureau Serving Central Illinois President Jessica Tharp added, “BBB accreditation is a symbol of trust. Accreditation says a lot about your reputation and integrity, and it is a way to market yourself to consumers who are looking for someone they can trust.”
