Health Alliance remains an award winner

Urbana, Ill. – For a third year, Health Alliance has earned a quality award from the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA). The Health Alliance Medicare Prescription Plan received a Laura Cranston Excellence in Quality Award for high achievement in PQA measures of medication safety and appropriate use.

Prescription Drug Plans (PDP) receiving the Excellence in Quality Award are recognized for achieving at least a 4.5-star Part D summary rating and at least a 4-star rating on all five PQA medication measures used in the 2021 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) program.

“Our ‘Strive for Five’ quality campaign is one of the main reasons we have achieved high performance in the pharmacy measures.  These results are a reflection of the hard work and efforts of the entire company,” Brian Smolich, Vice President of Pharmacy, Medical Utilization Management, and Systems said. “As part of Carle Health, Health Alliance’s performance reflects our enterprise’s vision of improving health by providing highly accessible, world-class care and service.”

Beyond highlighting a commitment to following high quality medication use strategies to care for patients, the award helps inform overall quality measurement efforts.

“Our members and their families matter and meeting their healthcare needs is at the heart of everything we do. We continue to improve our products, value, and member experience to serve our members,” Dennis P. Hesch, Health Alliance President and Chief Executive Officer shared.  “Awards like this help guide us as we measure the quality of our processes, member experiences, and health outcomes.”
