Change Healthcare Update

On February 21, 2024, Change Healthcare experienced a cyber security incident. This incident affected many organizations in the healthcare industry. Since that time, we’ve been in active communication with Change Healthcare to thoroughly understand the nature and extent of the incident. We aggressively explored alternatives for claims submission and payment and have since moved these processes to other vendors.

Health Alliance remains ready to work with Change Healthcare once the scope and magnitude of any impact on sensitive information is disclosed to us. On April 22, Change Healthcare issued a press release indicating that sensitive information was compromised in the cyber attack but no specifics have been communicated to Health Alliance. It will likely take them several months before the full impact of the breach is known.

Change Healthcare is now providing support and protections for those that may have been impacted. Given that Health Alliance has used Change Healthcare’s services, we recommend all members get more information on these services.
